In this women’s  writing group, we want to push the edges of what’s possible with our writing, much as Virginia Wolff did in her time by articulating a new voice that embodied a freedom beneficial to all women writers.

This class is for women of all writing abilities and focuses on uncovering and articulating the uniqueness of each woman’s voice. Each woman is encouraged to find & pursue the writing genre that most interests her in expressing her creativity through writing. We study the basics of good writing and techniques for developing character, storyline, plot, and dialogue through such writing books as: Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird; Writing a Woman’s Life by Carolyn Heilbrun, and The Desert Is No Lady: Southwestern Landscapes in Women’s Writing and Art by Vera Norwood. We also inspire and assist one another through constructive feedback of writing done in class as well as writing projects each person commits to complete outside of class. THE WRITING GROUP WILL RECONVENE IN THE FALL. EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED VIA THE CONTACT PAGE ON WEBSITE.
