Imagine you are a daisy seed, blown
from cultured garden to far away.
Imagine you land in a vacant lot
surrounded by steel and concrete,
hum of air conditioner, and bus fumes.
Imagine you root, are watered
by occasional rain, and grow
to drink the sunshine and bloom,
your purpose to change ugly to lovely.

Now imagine that seed is you,
buffeted by winds of disappointment,
uprooted from home,
planted in a harsh landscape.
You survive, trudge through each day
seeking nourishment, stimulation, company.
You choose to thrive, give help,
offer humor, show compassion.
You grow into your purpose, find
meaning, and bring beauty to the world.
